POST-EMERGENT HERBICIDE FOR THE CONTROL OF DICOTYLEDONOUS WEEDS IN SUNFLOWER.
Active substance: 68.5 g/kg halauxifen-methyl (ArylexTM active)
Chemical class: arilpicolinate
Preparative form: concentrated suspension (CS)
Packaging: 0,5 l
Mechanism of action
Helianthex is a selective systemic herbicide for post-emergence application to sunflower crops to control broadleaf weeds. The active substance halauxifen-methyl ArylexTM is an arylpicolinate, which belongs to Group O according to the HRAC classification and acts as a synthetic auxin. It is absorbed by susceptible weeds through the leaves and is rapidly translocated through the vascular system to weed growth points where it accumulates.
The active Arylex molecules are rapidly absorbed by plant cells, where the herbicide mimics natural hormones by binding to nucleus-specific auxin receptors and triggers loss of normal growth function. Within hours to days of application, visual symptoms appear and continue to develop leading to the death of susceptible weeds within weeks of application.
After treatment, susceptible weeds stop growing, then leaf and stem deformities and chlorosis occur leading to necrosis and weed death.
