Fontelis is a systemic fungicide for the control of apple diseases.
Active substance: pentiopyrad, 200 g/l
Chemical class: Pyrazolcarboxamide
Preparative form: concentrated suspension (CS)
Packaging: 1 l
Mechanism of action
Pentiopyrad is a new carboxamide active substance that inhibits the respiratory process of fungi by biochemically blocking mitochondrial function at complex II.
The active substance has been included in the succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor pathogen resistance group 7 (SHDI-FRAC).
It does not induce cross-resistance to triazole, morpholine or strobilurin fungicides.
Ideally applied preventively or at the first signs of disease, before infection spreads.
It can be applied at any stage of crop growth for control of apple scab and apple scab, typically from bud break (ear stage BBCH 10) to fruit set (BBCH 79) with the recommendation to match the volume of solution to the leaf mass formed at the time of application to ensure good uniformity and coverage.
If infection pressure is high, treatment can be repeated after 7 days.
In the first phases of vegetation (budbreak - flowering) the recommended volume of solution is a maximum of 500 l/ha and can reach a maximum of 1,500 l/ha in classical plantations with high plant mass.
A maximum of three treatments is recommended, one of which can be before flowering from bud break (first visible leaves) to ear stage (BBCH 07-10).
Mixing with other authorised fungicides is recommended for the control of diseases found in apple orchards in situations of high infection pressure or if application is delayed due to unfavourable climatic conditions.
